Rehearse your lines out loud

Linester is the scene partner who's always ready to run lines. It reads your cues, listens while you speak, prompts you when you go blank, and shows you every word you missed.

Coming soon to the App Store · iPhone and iPad

How it works

  1. Upload your script. Any PDF, typed or scanned: a whole play or a few pages of sides. Linester reads it on your phone and finds every character.
  2. Choose your part. Your lines are laid out with the cue line before each one.
  3. Rehearse out loud. Linester reads each cue, then listens while you say your line, following you word by word.
  4. Go up? Just say “Line!” Maestro, your prompter, gives you one word at a time until you're back on track.

Made for getting off book

Follows every word

The word you just said is shown in bold, so a glance tells you exactly where you are, even in a long speech.

Catches what you missed

Dropped, swapped or paraphrased words are marked in red, with a soft sound, like line notes from your stage manager.

Prompts with just enough

“Line!” gives one more word each time you ask. Or ask for the whole line, the rest of it, or the next sentence.

Hands-free rehearsal

Go to the top of Act Two, hear a cue again, skip back three cues: all by voice, with your script in your hands.

Reads real scripts

Acting editions, typed manuscripts, scans and photos of pages, Shakespeare, overlapping dialogue in columns: Linester has learned many layouts.

Learns how you say it

Unusual names? “Teach Maestro how I say it” and the app recognizes them from then on. Fix any line or cue with a long press.

Your script stays yours

Linester reads your script, listens to you and speaks your cues entirely on your iPhone or iPad. Your script isn't uploaded anywhere, there's no account to create, and nothing you say is recorded or sent to us. Our privacy policy says it in full.

Moving to another device? Export your scripts, with all your edits and notes, and send them to your other iPhone or iPad yourself.

Coming soon

Linester is in testing with actors now and will be on the App Store soon, for iPhone and iPad (iOS 26 or later). Questions, or want to hear when it's out? Email support@linester.app.
